1. That "washed out" "70's" "faded" "vintage" or what ever the hell that effect is called. I don't even know the technical term for it, but most of the time it looks like someone sorry ass excuse for overexposing or ghosting a photo to hell and back and putting a cheesy effect on it to compensate. It does have a time and a place, and right now it's horribly overdone.
2. Pin Up. I used to actually like pin up, however I'm tired of looking at it. Maybe it's a shy photog's way of getting a girl half naked and all they have to do is some cliche poses. Most of the pin up I see is poorly lit and lack any originality. I'm sure I'll come back around about pin up, but first the fad has to fade.
3. Alice In Wonderland. I was never a big fan of the story from the beginning, but I never hated it. I'm quickly beginning to because I can't escape it. Never mind the fact that a grown woman masquerading around with half her ass out dressed as an iconic character in a childrens story is just fucking creepy. I don't have a problem with anyone's ass hanging out, however I'm very creeped out by adding sexuality with things that should not be at all sexual such as children's stories, animals, suicide, the list goes on and on.
4. Self portraits. I submit perfectly good, well thought out, decently lit, photos of good looking people that I busted my ass on, only to have them rejected with no explanation, then I turn around and see a myspace style snapshot of someone I'm not entirely sure if even 18's boobs. In no way do I believe myself to be this fucking amazing photographer, I'm still learning, a lot. Right now I'm happy if I learn one new trick with each shoot that I do, but there are some standards.
5. Tits. OK, I'm a girl so I'm biased on this one, but I think you other girls will understand.
